Are there medical risks to eating super-hot chili peppers?
A British man died of cardiac arrest recently after eating extra-hot chili sauce at a chili-eating contest. The sauce was made from chili peppers specially grown by his father.
Though a link between the super-hot chili sauce and the unfortunate man’s heart attack was not confirmed, it might be a distinct possibility. I haven’t found much info about the possible heath hazards of hot chili peppers on the Internet, though apparently they have many apparent health benefits, including fighting cancer, congestion relief, and, ironically enough, protecting your heart.
